LANDMARKS – art in the landscape

The project was born during Trenčín 2026 European Capital of Culture and connects contemporary art with the landscape and travel. We invite you to discover places where art becomes part of the landscape.

Born during the European Capital of Culture

LANDMARKS began at a time when the region opened up to Europe – during the European Capital of Culture. Our aim was to leave a lasting mark that connects cultural heritage, contemporary art and a unique landscape.

The works are created in dialogue with the place, its community and its history. They are not just a destination but part of the journey – an invitation to slow down, notice and explore.

How the works are selected

We work with open calls, personal invitations and field research. We look for artistic approaches that respond sensitively to the place, its community and the challenges the landscape faces today.

Every work goes through expert selection, discussion and consultation with local partners. We value quality, meaning, durability and respect for the environment.

Art in the landscape is not decoration – it is an invitation to perceive.
